Signature gathering for Gayle McLaughlin at SF MLK march at Yerba Buena Gardens on Monday, January 15th, 2018

Progressive Berniecrat family,

Please join Our Revolution local groups to help Gayle McLaughlin, former two time Richmond mayor and active founding members of Richmond Progressive Alliance, gather signatures so she can be on CA ballot running for Lieutenant Governor of CA. She needs a minimum of 7,000 by Jan. 22nd to get on the ballot here in CA. Below is the info about MLK parade march in SF plus the speakers and music after at Yerba Buena Gardens.

If we get a dozen people we could probably get close to 1,000 signatures if we are persistent. We should have people at SF Cal train station where the march starts and folks at the end at Yerba Buena Gardens. It will be hard to get signatures at locations in between cause people will be on the move. If you can make it to help us please text Kate at 925-899-3309 to confirm and sign up for shift and location.

Here is the info on MLK Parade/March:

“The largest event this weekend is the parade/march. It will be on Monday, January 15 at 11am. Here is the link for MLK March :

This 1.5-mile march starts at SF’s Caltrain Station and crosses over the Lefty O’Doul Bridge near AT&T Park. It then stops in the Willie Mays Plaza to commemorate the Edmunds Pettus Bridge crossing of the famous Selma-to-Montgomery, Alabama march, a symbol of violence and victory during the civil rights era.

After stopping for a few minutes, the march will continue north to the Yerba Buena Gardens.

After the march, stay around the Yerba Buena Center for the Performing Arts for the main program. This year, the event features a panel with a leading activist, actor, athlete, and artist.

The conversation will be lead by two-time Peabody Award-winning journalist Al Letson. The program is at 1pm.

Music Festival
The Music Festival is an afternoon of music and poetry on the lawn in the Yerba Buena Gardens.
